I am a committed artist
Who am I?
I am a committed
artist who tries to tell
meaningful stories
in our existential quest.
I am an artist in the service
of the community.
I try to connect my art with
with the great life itself.
I am a civil servant.
Who do I work with?
In principle, I work with everyone.
But my preference goes out to groups
and individuals who stay in the shadow,
for whatever reason.
I like to work with people who say or think of themselves: ‘I am not destined or ready for this but I would like to try it!’
They are the curious ones who will move boundaries and stones.
I also address those who feel attracted to the worlds of the ‘shadow people’.
Those wanting to be in solidarity with them.
This is how I create new energies, new places of encounter between people.
What do I do?
I design long-term
process-oriented projects
that I really do want to carry out !
I connect them with art, culture, artistic expression.
I direct theatre and film.
I integrate dance and movement, images and poetry.
I write texts and scenarios.
I (co-)develop expositions and decors.
Just like words, images help us to tell stories.
Everything I do is based on everyday life.
I attach great importance to memory.
I collect people's stories.
These are real stories, always coloured.
I try to motivate the tellers of these stories to participate in the projects that I do.
Somebody who shares a story, I will encourage sharing it with an audience...
I try to create a world that is bigger than every participant, included myself.
These projects are long-drawn-out processes in which you evolve as a human being.
They have many layers.
They feel like a journey.
They bundle energies.
They make us realise that human existence is complicated but very fascinating.
They make you grow as a human being.
Everything I do is based on everyday life.
Who am I doing it for?
My projects cross the dividing lines
between worlds.
This happens during the creation and during
the presentation of the final result
in front of an audience.
By audience, I always mean audiences.
They are the reflection and multiplication
of everything that manifests itself on stage
or on the screen.
They reflect the world.
Who supports me?
I surround myself with
other artists and craftsmen
who help to strengthen the project:
technicians, actors and musicians,
visual artists, photographers, editors ...
These are, without exception,
people with whom I feel a bond
and who have a heart for the subject.
They are jointly responsible for the quality of the final presentation.
I appreciate the financial support of governments or sponsors.
I often rely on partner organisations
who engage me or whose help I ask for.
They help me logistically and in terms of content.
I accept assignments, on the condition that
an organisation is not objecting to cooperate
with other organisations and doesn't mind to
give up comfort zones.
This increases the support base and the impact of
a project and everyone wins.
